I have encountered both kind of people, those who can feel a whole lot, some who can’t. Like lyd, the moment I put my hands on her, she feels the energy rather quickly. Then there’s my guy L, whom has so far only felt a little sensation from me, but no matter, he feels better after that. As for feeling energy myself, I would say I am fairly sensitive, but there are times when I don’t feel a thing, and that’s when I try to do something about it. Besides the guides in the book by richard gordon, I’ve come up with some of my own ideas to ‘feel’ something.
Here they are:
- Imagining myself really small and tiny, and then going into my own body and as I breathe, I imagine myself ’swimming’ from my toes to my head. So I imagine what the view is like from the bottom of my feet. Then my knees, then up and up all the way to the crown of my head.
- Intone ‘OM’ silently, and imagine the sound just vibrating through down from my head to the tips of my toes.
- Listen to instrumental music, my favourite is pachebel, and just imagine each note bouncing around in and around my blood, flowing throughout my body.
- Listen to a song that touches me. (Breathe on me by Hillsongs is one of my favourite!) I like those vocals that really resonate deep within me.
- Every breathe that I take, I take it deep down to my core. I learnt how to do this in Yoga, and I imagine I am breathing in everything I need, and breathing out everything I don’t need.
- Run. This is a surefire way for me to feel something. I love to run and run, then take a slow walk, then finally sit down to meditate. Then do my QT breathing at the same time, and the sensations that gather in my palms get really strong.
- Yoga. Another great way to get myself feeling the energy flow in my body. Doing yoga has made me realise there are so many parts of me that I have probably not used/stretched before!
So those are what I can think of that I do right now. I hope it helps some of you who find that you can’t feel very much. At the end of the day, I believe that more important than trying to feel something, what are your intentions behind what you do? Energy follows intention, so just intend, and just be. Relax, take a deep breath, close your eyes and release.

All that said, I’ve just ran and had good company lately. Been feeling a little out of sorts, not physically, but like something’s bothering me. Maybe some things are going faster than I thought they would! But today I feel a lot better, but I know I can be better!

Thanks for this – wow those techniques are really great, I love the swimming through the body one and the music one, I can really connect to this. I have just printed them out and they are going to be stapled in the back of my QT book. I am going to try some of these out along with the QT breathing and energy sweeps tomorrow,

Just to ask you another question, did you find over time that the sensations in your body and hands got stronger, or does the feeling come and go depending what mood you are in? You say that you are feeling a little out of sorts at the moment, would that affect your healing energy at all?

Glad that you can connect to these ideas, I hope that you find them useful when you try it out later. I’m sure you’ll come up with some of your own ideas in time!
And to answer you, yes I do find that over time it gets stronger, and it comes faster too. When I first experimented on my friend, it took about 10 mins for her to feel something. On my part it took maybe 5 mins to feel sensations. But now, I just need to take a few breaths to start it off, then it comes quite strong after that, and also the person I am working on, if he/she is sensitive, then they feel it almost immediately. That same friend I worked with early on, felt it almost immediately and told me I seemed to have improved :p
And as for feeling out of sorts, I tend to feel as if I am blocked somewhere, and my own feeling of the energy does not feel as strong, but it seems to work all the same. Example, when I work on my mom, she feels relief from the pain in her wrist in about 5 mins. I would like to help her heal completely, but she’s too restless and can’t sit for more than 10 mins(5 is already a torture..) So I just help her every other day or when she asks me, and so far it doesn’t seem to make a difference what mood I am in.

great post! i’m going to try out the swimming and music techniques. sometimes I feel that after distance-QTing on someone for 10 minutes or more, I actually find myself ‘zoning’ out, coz I suddenly jump back to ‘reality’ and had no recollection of what happened just now, then I’d remember I was supposed to QT someone. But I’d feel really good and refreshed and loving.
Just an insteresting experience I got.
